Twin-Fluid Injection Lances for a High-Dust SCR Unit in a Coal-Fired Power Plant in the USA

After a thorough CFD analysis of the flow situation in the SCR unit, we developed, tested and produced a novel twin-fluid injection lance with twin nozzle heads. The main purpose of the nozzle is to atomize liquid ammonia-solution with compressed air within the flue gases inside the SCR unit ductwork. The critical point was the high-dust load which could lead to nozzle blockage if not designed and operated appropriately. 

Meanwhile, the injectors have been supplied and are performing smoothly. No nozzle blockage has been observed up to now.
