Design and Supply of a High Gas Temperature Static Mixer for a Refinery in Norway
We designed and supplied a large-scale static mixer which is capable of mixing hot exhaust gases from a burner within a very short distance. The challenge was the high temperature level (550°C mean temperature) and the strict mixing quality requirements which involved reducing the maldistribution from initially +/-300°C to +/-20°C in less than 2.5 times L/D. To reach our goals, a CFD study was conducted prior to elaborating the detailed design and manufacturing plans.
Finally, we supplied the static mixing system ready to be mounted on site.
