CFD Optimization of the Ventilation System of a Coal Storage Dome in Italy

On the basis of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), the sizing of the ventilation openings was determined to allow a specified air exchange rate between the inside of the dome and the outside environment. In addition to all of the relevant components inside the dome, several wind load scenarios, as well as nearby buildings were considered in the simulation study.
