The new Flowte-C Mixer was invented and optimized over 1 year by CFD, field tests and

expermental modeling.
The Mixer is especially made for gas application for tail-end and high-dust applications.

He shows several huge advantages, as independent of incoming flow, does not destroy the velocity profile, no errosion of dust, excellent mixing performance of temperatures, Ammonia, etc., by lowest pressure drop. A komplett new geometry!

Ductwork optimization of a high dust SCR unit corresponding to a power plant in Asia. The CFD results were compared with the experimental cold flow model findings. For high dust applications with a fly ash or a particle content of 100 mg - 30'000 mg, experimental tests showed a higher accuracy.

SCR of waste incineration plants in Rome and Milano, Italy:
After optimizing the SCR of Rome's waste incineration site (Colleferro), Flowtech was assigned to conduct experimental flow tests and CFD calculations for a comparable plant in Milano (AMSA).

Optimization of a AIG system located upstream of the catalyst reactor of a H2 unit in California. The study concluded with a NOx / NH3 molar ratio of 3.8 with a given mixing lenght of merely l/dh<1.

Successful start up of the SCR system of a waste incineration plant in Europe. More than 95% of the initial NOx was removed.  The NOx concentration was lowered to 10 ppm. In addition, no evidence of ammonia slip was given.

Design and optimization of a cyclonic particle removing system. It is able to remove more than 98% of the initial fly ash particles.

July 2006:

Flowtech successfully optimized a Flue Gas Desulphurization (FGD) plant. The SO2 concentration in the 1'200'000 Nm^3/h flue gas stream was due to be reduced from 6000 to 200 mg/Nm3. For this purpose, CFD was employed. The interaction between the flue gas flow through the scrubber and the dispersed limestone flurry was studied. It included a computation of the multiphase flow in the absorber zone.

Flowtech Industries AG proudly announces to enter into a cooperation contract with Tsinghua Tongfang for a 600 MW high dust SCR unit in China. Tsinghua Tongfang will be supported by Flowtech with the performance of experimental flow model tests and CFD calculations, as well as with duct design consulting, manufacturing of ammonia injection systems and static mixing devices.

Conclusion of a flow optimization study for a coal fired power plant in Europe. The conducted work included the optimization of the flue gas ducts, the minimization of pressure drop and the mixing of gases. The plant will be operated with an ammonia injection grid and static mixers designed by Flowtech.

A new computer based measurement system has been tested and is ready to be used. With the new system, gas velocity and temperature can be measured at 100 positions simultaneously. Thus, complete cross sections can be measured in a short period of time.

Flowtech successfully optimized the flow through a baghouse with 8 chambers and 864 filter tubes per chamber. The baghouse is installed downstream of a coal  fired boiler with a flow rate of 1'000'000 Nm^3/h. For this project, static mixers and turning vanes were recommended.

February 2005:

The newly optimized Flowte-X static mixer shows an extremely low pressure drop. The device was optimzed with CFD tools and experimental tests during a period of time of 4 months. The new mixing system is successfully operating in 4 units in Europe. The pressure drop does not increase above 1 mbar in SCR plants with rectangular ducts and a flue gas  velocity below 12 m/s (max. 120'000 Nm^3/h). Thus, a NH3 / NOx molar ratio of less than 5% RMS can be achieved.

Successful commissioning of a large scale pop-corn-ash cinder screen arrangement in a high dust power plant. The fly ash removal is guaranteed with the new arrangement recommended by Flowtech without producing any plugging problems at a high velocity level.
